The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) in Qatar is the main governmental body responsible for overseeing and regulating the country’s education system. It plays a crucial role in shaping educational policies, ensuring academic quality, and promoting access to inclusive, high-quality education at all levels, from early childhood to higher education and lifelong learning.

The Minister
Her Excellency Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater
A seasoned diplomat who transitioned into an education leader. In 2017, she became the first female spokesperson for Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and served as the Assistant Foreign Minister from 2019. Later, she held the position of Minister of State for International Cooperation from March 2023 to November 2024. She is one of Qatar’s most influential and accomplished public figures. With a distinguished career in foreign affairs, public policy, and strategic communication, she became widely respected both regionally and internationally.
